When you book a private sport fishing charter in Ketchikan with us, the following is included:

-Fish Processing (All Fish are sent to Cedars Lodge for Professional Fish Processing)

-Land transportation (Taxi service available in Ketchikan)

-Gratuities:  Never expected but always appreciated.  Industry standard is 15-20% of total trip cost.

Sport Fishing Charters in Ketchikan offer an abundant and diverse fishing experieice.  Depending on the type of species you wish to target, and where the bite has been most productive, travel times can vary.  

For Salmon, we can travel as little as 15 minutes, or up to an hour if the fish are biting further from town.

-Halibut are a favorite sport fish and table fare of many visitors to Alaska.  Our closet Halibut Grounds are around 35-45 minutes from the dock or up to 1.5 hours from dock.  

**Please Note:  Travel times to and from the fishing grounds ARE part of and included in the total Charter time.  For example, if you book a 6 Hour Sport Fishing Chater and want to go Halibut Fishing, we have a minimum of a 35-45 minute run EACH WAY.  This travel time is included in your total Charter Time. We love to fish and will travel to the most productive fishing grounds when weather permits.  SAFETY is our absolute 1st and primary concern.  Ocean conditions can be flat calm like a lake, or upwards of 3-4' swells.  Weather can change extremely quickly in Alaksa, so because it looks calm in front of town, the productive fishing grounds could be very rough.  Luckily, we can usually find protected waters to fish in Ketchikan.  

Please remember that we cannot control the weather.  If we can safely get to the fishing grounds, we are going fishing!  Your captain watches the weather extremely close and will deem if it is safe to run the charter based on weather conditions AND on the guest's physical ability.   Please remember that SAFETY is our #1 Priority.  If a Charter is cancelled by the Captain for weather reasons, you will receive a FULL refund. 

Seasickness is the worst.  While the majority of our guests do not experience seasickness, some people sadly do.  Please understand that your captain will customize your fishing charter based on your group's needs.  If the charter must be ended early due to seasickness (at guests request), no refund will be given for unused charter time.  This is only if your group askes to be taken in early.  

Please be advised that we follow ALL State of Alaksa and Federal Regulations regarding sport fishing limits.  We are located in Ketchikan Alaska which is in Southeast Alaska, and our federal Halibut Permit is for area 2C.  Please visit the link on our website for current Southeast Alaska Halibut Regulations, as they can change from year to year.  Please call us directly @ 907-204-8036 and we are happy to discuss limit amounts for each species.  

Yes!  If you are staying in Ketchikan and would like to eat a portion of your catch, your captain will happily fillet a portion so you may try the freshest fish you've ever had!  Please note that you should have cooking facilities at your lodging accommodations to prepare your fresh caught meal.  Many Airbnb rentals have cooking facilities, while most hotels do not.

As with all fishing, we DO NOT guarantee a catch.  Your Captain will do everything they can to put you on the fish, but please remember that we are dealing with wild animals, large tidal changes, weather AND CUSTOMERS CRUISE SHIP SCHEDULES, and therefore we cannot guarantee a catch.  If you want a guaranteed catch, we do offer a charter where a catch is guaranteed.  Please visit our Charters and Pricing Page for info regarding our Guaranteed Catch Charter or call us directly at 907-204-8036. 

Yes of course!  Captain Trent is a professional fisherman and guide and will help you from start to finish.  Once you complete your fishing charter experience with us you will be fishing like a pro!

Sportfishing in Ketchican is a great way to not only catch fish, but also see the marine life around Ketchikan!  We NEVER guarantee wildlife sightings, however humpback whales, killer whales bald eagles, seals and sea lions are abundant and constant sighting while out fishing!  If you'd prefer a private wildlife tour without fishing, we can absolutely accommodate "Photo Safaris" for wildlife charters.
